Biogas<\/strong> is a renewable source that enables sustainable energy production by transforming waste and biomass into resources.
The process occurs through anaerobic digestion<\/strong>, which is the fermentation of organic residues and agricultural crops in the absence of oxygen. Inside the digesters, maintained at controlled temperature, active microorganisms convert the raw material into biogas, primarily composed of methane (50-70%) and carbon dioxide, with small quantities of other gases. <\/p>

The generated biogas powers cogeneration<\/strong> plants, capable of producing electricity for the grid, contributing to emissions reduction and energy transition.<\/p>

An additional benefit is the digestate<\/strong>, the process residue: an odorless substance with solid and liquid components, rich in nutrients. Biomethane<\/strong> is a renewable fuel obtained by purifying biogas, removing carbon dioxide, water, and other impurities, to achieve a gas with characteristics very similar to fossil methane.<\/p>

Thanks to this process, biomethane can be directly injected into the national distribution network or used as transport fuel<\/strong>, contributing concretely to CO\u2082 emissions reduction and the transition towards a more sustainable economy.<\/p>

The biomethane production of Greenway Group<\/strong> is part of a local agricultural chain that enhances local resources and ensures energy independence. The Greenway plant, located in the industrial area of Bertiolo<\/strong>, has a power capacity of 1 Megawatt<\/strong> and can produce almost 8,000 MWh per year<\/strong>.
The plant is powered by a local agricultural chain composed of companies that cultivate all the necessary biomass on Greenway’s lands.<\/p>\n

In addition to energy, the plant also produces digestate<\/strong>, a natural organic material used to fertilize agricultural land, improving its quality. \n

The technology used comes from the German company Schmack Biogas<\/strong>, European leader in biogas plant construction.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Greenway plant is located in an area adjacent to the industrial zone of San Daniele<\/strong> and is harmoniously integrated into a small wood that mitigates its visual impact, blending it with the surrounding environment.<\/p>

In this case too, production is based on an indigenous agricultural supply chain<\/strong>, sharing the same characteristics as Greenway’s: sustainable, local, and closely connected to the territory.<\/p>

Thanks to the strategic alliance with FITT SPA, during 2025 we launched the Biomethane project by converting the plant.<\/p>
